History

After much success from Premier Gymnastics Academy in Downers Grove, owner Mark Diab knew that it was time to grow his program.  Mark along with his long time employee Paul Evatt took the bold step and opened the second Premier Gymnastics located in Oswego IL.  Mark began gymnastics as a young teen and soon knew it was the sport for him.  After high school he then moved on to compete gymnastics for Iowa State where he was extremely successful in his 4 year stint in college gymnastics.  His illustrious career ended with 2 NCAA national titles as well as the prestigious title as the 1986 Iowa State athlete of the year.  Paul  began gymnastics as a young child, however knew at a very young age that coaching was more his desire than competing.  His competitive career ended early when he started coaching at the young age of only 15.  By 17 Paul was the head coach of the boys team at his gym in North Florida and has continued his life as a career gymnastics coach since.  Paul started working with Mark in 1998 where they ran one of the most competitive boys programs in the country.  Clearly one of Paul’s lifelong dreams came to pass when they decided to open up Premier West in 2005.  Premier west began with a very small core group of coaches who are all still working in the Premier family.  Diane O’brien who is our girls team head coach was one of the founding coaches of this program who paid her dues along with the other 3 and helped turn this program into what it is today.  All 4 of those coaches are still working in the Premier Family, in fact West alone now has 18 coaches, of who many are full time staff members.  We have steadily grown since we opened in 05 and hope to continue to be a household name in the Oswego and surrounding areas.  We believe one of the things that separates us from others is our ability to coach all levels of gymnastics effectively, from the true beginner to the demanding elite we have a place for you at our gym.
